Real Madrid Suspension has been upheld
A yellow card picked up by Dani Carvajal in Real Madrid‘s final match of the 2018/19 season will rule the right-back out of this weekend’s trip to Celta Vigo.
A new rule from the Spanish FA has been brought in to prevent such suspensions carrying over from one season to another, but this had to be signed off by the sports ministry and it hasn’t happened due to the holiday period.
It’ll, therefore, come into play from next season onwards.
Barring any last-minute twists or turns, this means that Carvajal will be unavailable against Celta Vigo and that Zinedine Zidane will likely turn to Alvaro Odriozola.
Odriozola made 14 LaLiga Santander appearances last season and will hope to add to that this year, starting with this match in Galicia.
