Real Madrid have previous for waiting until the last minute of a transfer window to make a big signing, and Zinedine Zidane is hoping that will be the case again this summer as his desire to sign Paul Pogba hasn’t faded.
The market is open until September 2 and, as such, Los Blancos will remain attentive to all movements, with a keen eye on Manchester and the midfielder’s situation.
Pogba hasn’t become any less desirable for Zidane.
The coach still wants him, but United are still asking for 200 million euros.
Nothing has changed on Pogba‘s end either, but he doesn’t plan to force an exit from Old Trafford despite wanting to work with Zidane in Madrid.
The extent to which Zidane wants Pogba is evident, even more so when you realise that Donny van de Beek or Christian Eriksen could arrive in Spain tomorrow if he gave the thumbs up on either signing, but that he’s holding out for his compatriot.
In the case of Neymar, Florentino Perez is standing firm and awaiting events.
Things still need to move along somewhat in Paris before a move will be made.
But the lack of goals at Real Madrid is alarming, and the club do see the Brazilian as someone who could help to rectify that.
