Barcelona Has made his intentions very clear
Samuel Umtiti has made it clear to Barcelona that he won’t be listening to any offers from other clubs this summer.
The Catalan side are seriously considering selling the central defender because of his inconsistent form and constant knee problems.
Barcelona are getting closer to reaching an agreement to sign Ajax star Matthijs de Ligt, but they will have to fend off interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
If the Dutchman does end up arriving at the Camp Nou, Ernesto Valverde will have five centre-backs in his squad for next season.
One will have to be sold and, due to Clement Lenglet‘s solid partnership with Gerard Pique, the main candidate is Umtiti, not least because of his sell-on value.
Umtiti has a great reputation across Europe and would attract plenty of offers. However, the Frenchman has told the club several times that he doesn’t want to leave, and his only objective is being with Barcelona next season.
He isn’t changing his mind and, even if Barcelona do accept a bid for him, he won’t be listening to their offer.
Umtiti is alongside Jasper Cillessen, Nelson Semedo, Philippe Coutinho and Malcom as the players that are most likely to be sold this summer.
