Real Madrid Midfielder wants to stay at Los Blancos
Isco has no intention of leaving Real Madrid, however the club are willing to listen to offers for the Spain international.
As is the case with other members in the squad, those upstairs at the Santiago Bernabeu are not ruling out his departure and, for the right place, he is available.
The case of Isco is different to that of the other players Madrid are looking to move on from, not least because of his history and the understanding that he had a difficult season in 2018/19.
The 27-year-old went from being an undisputed starter under Julen Lopetegui at the start of the campaign to hardly featuring at all during Santiago Solari‘s reign, before Zinedine Zidane put him back into the first-team picture. In the Frenchman’s 11 matches in charge after his return to the bench, Isco started in six of them.
Isco has been clear that he wants to stay at Real Madrid. His professional ambition and his desire to succeed at the Santiago Bernabeu mean that he has not contemplated a departure, while his personal life – he is expecting a baby with the actress Sara Salamo – is further evidence that he wants to be in a stable situation in the Spanish capital. It would have been a different story if Zidane had said that he isn’t counting on him for next season, but that is not the case.
The truth is that no player has stated their desire to leave Madrid, the Sergio Ramos episode aside. Los Blancos will be obliged to make sales, even ones that they do not want to do, as UEFA announced two weeks ago that clubs will only be able to record a loss of roughly 100 million euros in transfer fees over the course of one season.
The next month will see the players go on their holidays before returning to Valdebebas for the beginning of pre-season, scheduled for the second week of July, at which point many will have to decide what they are going to choose between staying or seeking out a new club.
