Alvaro Morata fell victim to the growing trend of footballers’ houses being robbed while away playing a match.
A group of armed thieves entered the Atletico Madrid loanee’s home while he was representing Spain in their 2020 European qualifying match away at the Faroe Islands, while his family were inside the building.
The assailants stole items of great economic and sentimental value, as well as inflicting emotional damage on those who were in the house at the time of the robbery.
The police acted immediately, but the thieves escaped without being arrested.
No physical damage occurred, and the investigation is now open.
