Brazilian PC and mobile phone manufacturer Positivo Tecnologia reported a loss of BRL 11.6 million in the second quarter of 2018. This compares to a profit of BRL 3.3 million a year earlier. Revenues increased 11.4 percent to BRL 485.1 million, while net debt fell from BRL 239 million to BRL 140 million in one year. Investments dropped from BRL 12.3 million in Q2 2017 to BRL 5.9 million in Q2 2018.
Positivo sold 188,000 notebooks (+9.2%) and 84,000 desktops (+62.5%) in the period, while smartphone sales fell 18.3 percent to 203,800 units sold. In the segment of feature phones, sales grew 35 percent to 187,700 pieces, while tablet sales fell 60 percent to 1,700 units.
