An amazing N.J. ice cream shop has set an opening date for its 2nd location – NJ.com

Milk Sugar Love may be small and has only been open for a few years, but it’s already earned major acclaim in the New Jersey ice cream scene — and now it’s expanding.

The Jersey City-based operation with crazy flavors like Lemon Olive Oil, Midnight Cocoa (made with charcoal) and Honey Corncake, will open its second location on April 6 in the Heights neighborhood of Jersey City. Milk Sugar Love, whose flagship location is at 19 McWilliams Place right next to Hamilton Park, was named a finalist in NJ.com’s best ice cream shop showdown in 2016.

While the Hamilton Park location doesn’t have seating, the new spot at 394 Palisade Ave. will, according to JerseyCityUpfront.com. The second shop will continue to serve a rotation of 12 different flavors daily as the current done does, featuring a blend of classics like Vanilla Bean and Classic Chocolate, but don’t be afraid to try their outside-the-box offerings. Lemon Olive Oil may sound crazy, but one bite will have you planning a return trip, and the Midnight Cocoa will turn your mouth black but is smooth and delicious.

Milk Sugar Love is more than its scoops, though. Their ice cream sandwiches, like “The Doughboy” which features layers of cookie dough and a chocolate dip, as well as “The Fruity Pebble Mac Daddy” which is made up of Fruity Pebble Macarons, are completely Instagrammable and look as good as they taste. Their ice cream cakes are just as impressive, and their hot chocolate is rich and perfect for a winter walk around Hamilton Park.
